The Finance department of Mutasa Rural District Council is focuses on the financial well-being and effective management and accountability of the local authority finance and the promotion of the value for money principle across all the departments.

The department is made up of four sections namely Debtors, Creditors, Billing and Revenue Collection, Central Accounting. The department is responsible for Budget preparation and approval, Receipt of all council revenues, Disbursements of funds as budgeted, Accounting for all council funds, Preparation and presentation of monthly and annual financial statements,Business incubation, Billing, Rates and clearance, Financial Statements, Cash flow management, Strategic business management, Capital financing, Insurance of council property.
