Mutasa Rural District Council received a fire tender from the Government of Zimbabwe as part of the national initiative to strengthen disaster response capacity across local authorities. In recent years, Mutasa District has experienced a growing number of fire-related incidents, including veld fires, structural fires, and road traffic accidents that require emergency response. The lack of adequate firefighting equipment has greatly hampered the Council’s ability to effectively respond to these emergencies.

This project was funded and constructed by the Zimbabwe Africa Trust, with the Council providing designs, assisting with site selection and inspection. This was a much awaited river crossing infrastructure to benefit mostly school children and the public in General.

“Muparutsa Clinic funded by Devolution, Council and the community. The other photos showcase the Muparutsa clinic. The main wing has a sleek exterior paint job in white, complemented by a soothing white and green interior. The smaller wing, which has been plastered, is yet to be completed before the clinic can open its doors to the public. Notably, the contractor donated the beautiful ceilings in the main wing as an extra gesture. The smaller wing was a community-driven initiative, with over 17 local builders participating in its construction under the council's supervision. ”

The Council was privileged to attend the official opening of the Hexing ZLink smart water meter factory in Johannesburg, South Africa. This opportunity arose through a collaboration with a higher institution of learning, Harare Institute of Technology (HIT), facilitated by Lads. The visit was highly valued, as the Council is currently transitioning to prepaid water meters. This innovative system enables consumers to pay off arrears, cover meter costs, and pay for current water usage simultaneously

Banana processing plant,a project owned by the Ministry of Women Affairs and ILO. Although the structure is complete, it awaits machinery installation to commence production. The Council opened up the access road and plans to gravel it and install a culvert to facilitate water passage
